Maybe it seems that it has always been like that, but it is not. Imagine life without electric lights or running water. No refrigerators, washing machines, radio, television, or movies? No computers, cell phones or credit cards? In this new book, Cristina Junyent explains the evolution of our daily lives, according to the most important social and technological revolutions that have radically transformed our societies and the world we live in.
Author:
Biography: Cristina holds a degree and doctorate in Biology from the University of Barcelona and a master’s degree in Science Communication from Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona). She is the founder and director of the Science in Society Foundation. She has published several books and writes articles for La Vanguardia, Mètode, and Transversal. She is also editor-in-chief of the journal Omniscellula, published by the Catalan Society of Biology, an affiliate of the Institute for Catalan Studies. Furthermore, she has worked on several educational TV programs and is a member of the Catalan Association for Science Communication.

Illustrator: Cristina Losantos
Biography: After a few years of teaching, she has been exclusively dedicated to professional illustration since 1985. She works for numerous publishing companies in Spain and other European countries, and regularly collaborates with newspapers and magazines such as Cavall Fort and El Tatano. In 1998, Cristina won the 2nd National Illustration Prize, awarded by the Ministry of Culture. In 2007, she was awarded the 1st Prize in the "Graphic Humour and Sport" contest, sponsored by the Catalan Sports Foundation. She is the illustrator of the bestselling Victory series and the author of the I Spy with My Little Eye series.
